Meet Theresa

Dr. Theresa Talens is a dermatology nurse practitioner with her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. She is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Program. She has trained and worked along-side Dr. Brian Johnson, the lead Mohs surgeon at VDSCC, for nearly 10 years. She holds a unique role as being the sole nurse practitioner at Anne Arundel Dermatology specializing in surgery and procedures. Dr. Talens has performed more than 10,000+ cutaneous surgeries throughout her years of practicing becoming proficient at performing surgery on the skin.

Her knowledge and experience allows her to serve as a clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner and physician assistant students. She has also been a guest lecturer for the only Masters leveled Surgical Assistant Program (MSA) nationwide at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). She is a member with the National Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners, and Dermatology Nurses’ Association. Dr. Talens is passionate about providing quality dermatology care to patients, especially when it comes to performing procedures to treat common every day skin concerns.
